The body cannot be shorter than a #4 blade or 3/8” guard comb length, except for specific patterns like Schnauzers and or poodles (where face and feet can be shaved for poodles).
These should be simple, maintainable looks that pet owners can manage every 6-7 weeks. Legs can be up to two lengths longer than the body.

Balanced and symmetrical style that suits the dog’s body type.
Scissoring should look plush with no visible scissor marks.
Clean clipper lines with no irritation.
The challenge depends on how much coat is removed, the pattern followed, and the type/texture of the coat.

Coat Prep & Pre-Grooming: Clean, dry, brushed-out coat with no tangles or mats. Nails, ears, and sanitary areas should be properly trimmed.

Overall Presentation: Clean, polished look with no stray hairs or unfinished areas.
